About PXBRL by Populous World
Built for the moment someone asks "where's that from?"
PXBRL by Populous World is a UK corporate intelligence platform that pairs AI-powered analysis with hard citations —
every figure, every risk flag, every AI-generated answer traced back to the exact page and paragraph
of the filing it came from.
SW
Founder's Note
Steve Nico Williams
Founder, Populous World
PXBRL started from a simple frustration: every serious piece of corporate research eventually
comes down to one question — "can you show me exactly where that number came from?"
Traditional corporate data providers answer that with a summary, a database field, or a PDF you have
to search through yourself. AI tools promise speed but often can't answer it at all.
PXBRL was built to close that gap — an intelligence platform where the AI doesn't just tell you
an answer, it shows you the page and paragraph it came from, every time. Screening, cross-referencing,
risk scoring, and drafting are all built around that one principle: nothing ships without a source.
Our Mission
Make grounded, citable AI the default way UK companies get analysed
We believe due diligence, credit analysis, and risk monitoring should never rest on an answer nobody can
trace back to its source. PXBRL exists so that speed and rigour stop being a trade-off — you get the
pace of an AI analyst with the accountability of a human one who cites their work.
What PXBRL does
Every module below shares the same underlying data pipeline — daily Companies House & XBRL ingestion,
source-linked citations, and the same corporate lineage graph — so insight from one page is always
consistent with every other.
Command Center & Screener Matrix
Search by name, number, SIC code, location, or full financial criteria — turnover, profitability,
Z-Score, employee count — and screen thousands of companies at once with configurable columns,
saved screens, and bulk CSV export.
Corporate Dossier & Grounded RAG Chat
Ask any question about a company's filings and get an answer with inline citations — click any
source to see the original document. No black-box summarisation; every claim is traceable.
Corporate Lineage
Visualise parent-subsidiary structures, ultimate controlling parties, and ownership chains
directly from filed accounts — an interactive graph, not a static org chart.
Credit Intelligence
Altman Z-Score with trend history, sector peer benchmarking, and AI-surfaced risk signals
— going concern flags, litigation mentions, contingent liabilities — each with a source.
Document Delta Engine
Automatically compare a company's latest filing against its prior one, surfacing material
changes in turnover, assets, and liabilities with an AI-written executive summary.
Macro Intelligence Dashboard
Track sector-wide themes — inflation exposure, supply chain disruption, going concern risk —
across your whole portfolio or a chosen sector, filtered by company type and date range.
Cross-Reference Synthesis
Ask one question across dozens of companies at once and get a single synthesised answer
that draws on all of them — built for sector comparisons and portfolio-wide questions.
Briefing Studio
Drag in live financial metrics, use AI to tighten your phrasing into a professional tone,
save versioned drafts, and export a polished PDF memo — all without leaving the platform.
Who PXBRL is built for
Anyone whose job depends on knowing a UK company's real financial position — and being able to prove it.
M&A & Due Diligence Analysts
Screen targets, verify financials against source filings, and map ownership structures before a deal moves forward.
Credit & Lending Analysts
Assess counterparty risk with Z-Score trends, peer benchmarking, and going-concern flags pulled straight from accounts.
Litigation & Forensic Support
Trace ownership chains, historical filings, and financial deltas — every claim backed by a citable source document.
Portfolio & Risk Managers
Monitor hundreds of holdings at once, screen for emerging risk signals, and get alerted when a watched company changes.
Regulatory & Compliance Teams
Build auditable reports where every figure and statement traces back to a primary source, not a paraphrase.
Journalists & Researchers
Investigate corporate structures and financial history quickly, with sources you can verify and publish with confidence.
Insurance Underwriters
Assess commercial risk on prospective policyholders using current financial health and sector exposure data.
Procurement & Supply Chain
Vet suppliers' financial stability before signing contracts, and monitor existing suppliers for early distress signals.
Macro & Sector Analysts
Track sector-wide themes — inflation exposure, restructuring activity, supply chain stress — across the whole UK market.
What makes PXBRL different
Grounded, not generative
Every AI answer is built from retrieved source text with a citation attached — not free-form generation.
Daily, not quarterly
Companies House & XBRL data is ingested daily, so you're never working from stale filings.
UK-specific depth
Built entirely around UK Companies House filing structures and XBRL taxonomy, not a global generalisation.
Priced to actually use daily
A fraction of legacy providers' cost, so screening isn't rationed to a handful of queries a month.

Privacy Policy
Last updated: 19 August 2026
Populous World ("Populous", "we", "us", "our") operates the pxbrl.co.uk platform. This policy explains
what personal data we collect, why, and what rights you have over it, in accordance with the UK GDPR
and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who we are
Populous World is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. For any privacy
queries, contact us via the details in Section 9.
2. What we collect
- Account data: name, email address, hashed password, company name, and role.
- Usage data: searches performed, companies viewed, AI queries submitted, and feature usage, to operate and improve the service.
- Billing data: subscription plan and payment/transaction records. We do not store full payment card details ourselves.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, and device information, collected automatically for security and performance.
3. How we use your data
We use personal data to provide and maintain the platform, authenticate your account, process payments,
respond to support requests, send service-related communications, and — where you've opted in — product
updates. We do not sell personal data to third parties.
4. Legal basis for processing
We process personal data under the following UK GDPR bases: performance of a contract (providing the
service you've signed up for), legitimate interests (improving and securing the platform), and consent
(marketing communications, where applicable).
5. Company data on the platform
Separately from your personal account data, Populous indexes publicly available UK company filings from
Companies House and XBRL accounts data. This company-level financial data is not personal data about you
as a user, though it may incidentally contain personal data about company officers as disclosed in public
filings — this is handled under Companies House's own public register provisions.
6. Data sharing
We share data with service providers who process it on our behalf (hosting, database, and AI inference
providers) under data processing agreements, and with payment processors to complete transactions. We do
not share personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
7. Data retention
We retain account data for as long as your account is active, and for a limited period afterward to
meet legal and accounting obligations. Usage logs are retained for a limited rolling period for
security and audit purposes.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request erasure of your data, subject to legal retention requirements
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)

5. AI-generated content
Populous uses AI to summarise, analyse, and answer questions about company filings, with citations to
source documents. While we ground answers in retrieved source text, AI-generated content may contain
errors. You are responsible for independently verifying any information before relying on it for
financial, legal, or business decisions. Populous is a research and screening tool, not financial,
legal, or investment advice.
6. Data sources
Company data is sourced from Companies House and other public UK filing sources. Populous does not
guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of third-party source data, and is not responsible
for errors originating in the underlying filings themselves.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive

Trust & Security
Security built around what we handle
Populous processes commercially sensitive research activity — how we protect that data matters as much
as the research itself.
Encryption in transit and at rest
All traffic to and from Populous is encrypted via TLS. Stored data, including account credentials
and platform databases, is encrypted at rest.
Credential security
Passwords are hashed, never stored in plaintext. Session tokens are regenerated on login to protect
against session fixation.
Access controls
Every API endpoint requires an authenticated session. Internal access to production systems is
restricted to authorised personnel on a least-privilege basis.
Infrastructure
Populous runs on managed cloud infrastructure with regular security patching and monitored access
logs across our database and application layers.
Data isolation
Your account data, search history, and saved screens are logically isolated from other customers'
data at the application layer.
Incident response
We maintain a process for identifying, containing, and notifying affected customers of any security
incident in line with our regulatory obligations.
Compliance status
SOC 2 Type II certification is currently in progress. We're happy to share our security roadmap and
answer procurement/security questionnaires for enterprise evaluations — contact us via the details below.
Found a security issue?
We take vulnerability reports seriously. If you've found a security issue, please report it responsibly to
[email protected]
rather than disclosing it publicly, and we'll respond promptly.
